Families and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event to learn about the ways that they can have lower impacts on the environment. There will be over 70 booths of recreation, crafts and learning, as well as performances, a jump house, and more. The Day of the Child is a Latin American tradition honoring youth, which is reflected in the theme of this year’s event, which is #NuestraPlanetaNuestraHijos.
Over a third of the activities will be guided and developed by middle and high school students to get future leaders involved with environmentalism and to celebrate the generations of the future. This year’s Earth Day will help promote the Plastic Free Campaign that Watsonville is a part of as well. More information is available on the City of Watsonville’s website.
