Bike Santa Cruz County promotes bicycling through advocacy, education, and community building. Our goal is for people of all ages and abilities to feel comfortable using their bikes for daily trips.
Bike the Bay Youth Bike Tour 2019
Our annual youth bike tour from Santa Cruz to Monterey is happening August 3rd-5th! 14-20 year old Cyclists of all skill levels are welcome on the ride. We are dedicated to making the ride accessible, so the cost is on a sliding scale from $75 to $150 and we offer scholarships as needed. Bikes may be able to be provided at no extra cost if arranged in advance, but a road bike is not necessary for this ride. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange this.
We’ll be taking lots of breaks along the way and we will have a rest day in Monterey to enjoy the city and make some new friends. For more information and to sign up, visit our event page.
Bike Santa Cruz County Has a New Executive Director!
Our new director Gina Gallino Cole has 12 years of experience working in the non-profit sector, for the past 6 years, working with city and county staff and elected officials on policy and ordinance changes which will improve the health and well-being of Santa Cruz County residents. Cole’s experience with tobacco policy development has led her to see the world through the lens of public health, looking at equitable access to services and equitable protections for everyone.
“As an avid cyclist, the mission of Bike Santa Cruz County aligns well to my desire to improve the quality of cycling and the safety of my fellow cyclists in the County. As a lifelong resident, I bring an understanding of how to best tap into the supporting resources of our different jurisdictions, identifying the local leaders, advocates, and stakeholders who will eventually guide the end-game process of creating safe routes to school, work, and play for all,” says Cole.
