Are you passionate about safer streets, better bike infrastructure, and generally making it safer and more convenient for everyone in Santa Cruz County to get around on two wheels?
Bike Santa Cruz County (BSCC) is growing—and we’re looking for new voices to help guide our work for a safer, more bike-friendly community. If you connect with any of our recruitment priorities below, we’d love for you to consider applying for our Board of Directors.
Current Board Recruitment Priorities:
We are especially seeking candidates who bring one or more of the following perspectives or skills:
Treasurer / Financial Expertise – Experience with budgeting, accounting, or nonprofit finance
South County Representation – To ensure strong county-wide representation
People of Color and Women – To reflect the full diversity of Santa Cruz County
Bilingual / Bi-Cultural (Spanish Speaker) – To help strengthen outreach and inclusion
Legal and Contract Experience – To support organizational governance and partnerships
Grant Writing and Fundraising Skills – To help sustain and grow our programs

Serving on the Board Involves:
Attending regular Board meetings (10 per year)
Participating in at least one sub-committee
Sharing your insights and experience to help guide strategic decisions
Rolling up your sleeves as part of a working board—helping move projects forward, supporting events, and engaging directly in the work
Acting as an ambassador for Bike Santa Cruz County and biking in our community
Committing to a 2-year term helping guide our work and direction
